Fatboy Seat Removal-help

Hi,
I have a 2005 Fatboy, trying to replace stock seat with badlander. I loosen the rear, and side screws, bt the seat will not move? How the heck does this come off.....

I have taken the bolts off the strap, that is loose. I was wondering if the rear sat on something, I was pulling, and wiggling a little, but did not want to damage anything. So bottom line, if the rear and side bolts are loose, seems like springs keeps them from coming totally out, straps are loose, I should be able to pop the back off that nub, and then pull out??

Seat removal

Probably your side screws just need to be pried apart a little bit. They kind of set into the mount, and you have to pull the sides apart just a bit to get them out of the "hole". Just do one side, then the other will come free by itself.

Rear bolt

The rear bolt, the one that goes into the fitting on top of the rear fender, is a standard 1/4-20, so you can probably find one the right length pretty easy.

Hi,
It seems to be the lenght of the seat that is short not the bolt, it is about 1/2 short, lenght to the hole? Suppose to be able to use stock bracket, but it also says use should buy some kit, so maybe the lenght of the new bracket is longer, will call the harley shop tomorrow, I know the leather version was $40 more, but suppose to come with mounting hardware?

Ask your dealer if they carry brackets. I had the same problem, but the dealer had longer brackets in stock. Or you can go to Home Depot and pick up a piece of flat metal and a can of spray paint and make your own.

This is certainly the right place for the question, but you may want to keep from double posting. (Same question in Fatboy Owner's Discussion.)
