Wifes comfort question

When I picked up my 06 Standard I also bought the detachable sissy bar and installation kit. Imagine my surprise when I saw it on the bike and the back rest was a couple of inches over the seat. Anyhow, it turns out that it pushes my wife so far forward that she pushes me onto the narrow portion of the seat. I heated and bent the sissy bar back enough to move it back even with the back of the seat. Great! Now there's room for both of us, but her legs are hard on the saddle bag guard and only her heels are on the boards. I'm looking for ideas. HELLLLLLP!!!!!!
Thanks & Riding with friends,
Geoff of WA

For SOME ignorant reason these aren't in H-D's online catalog:
49087-01 Comfort Profile Rear Saddlebag Guards.
Page 418 in the '06 printed catalog.
Boards can be adjusted up, or Kuryakyn makes some adjustable pegs that clamp to the mounts that a lot of my friends whose wives have shorter legs are quite happy with...

Geoff, I had the same problem on my RK Classic, bag guards drove my wife/kids nuts. I switched to the setup that's used on the RK Custom, eliminating the bag guard bar. Good luck.

Raising floor boards.

I had to buy the H-D straight out floor board mounts for the short legs on my wife. Raised the boards up 2 inches and got them where she heeded them. The comfort profile gaurd bars are a good idea also.
