Pan is made out of 6 guage stainless and going to use 6oz vegetable tan leather for easy tooling. Learning as I go. With neoprene first layer and softbutane for comfy layer, equaling about 1" total.

Hello Snowman, Ozzie here, tried emails to you again but keep bouncing almost at the point of dumping the home email as these Pric#ks are charging like a wounded bull and I can not get in or out.
Anyway, back to your seat - I guess you have a typo up there and are stating 16 guage stainless.
You should try for at least 2/3 layers of each to build up height and then use outer leather cover to compress layers - the reason is that when you actually sit on the bike you with your weight and current setup will most likely compress the seat to around 1/8" and on rough roads your bum and inner thighs will be hitting the outer edges of the seat pan and/or rails and that is going to get uncomfortable at any distance.
Dont mean to sound negative with your idea --- just guess that a bit of experimentation is in order and a few tests with different thickness until you get where you want to go.
All the best, Ozzie
