Corbin Classic Solo ?

I'm considering getting a Corbin Classic Solo for my 04 Road King. How easy is it to remove and/or adjust the backrest? I'll plan on using the backrest only on trips. I also like the V-rail. What about a bolt on luggage racks for the fender? Sharing your experience is greatly appreciated!

I have one on my FXD, so it's a totally different shape, but it seems to be a well made seat. It's quite firm, if that bothers you. Some say it breaks in. I think it breaks your ass in. Mine is every bit as stiff as it ever was (4K miles on it), but I found it comfortable from the start. I prefer a firm seat to pillowy types. I feel more connected to the bike.

Haven't put a back rest on it, and I probably won't. More $ than it's worth for my style of riding. I rarely do more than 200 mi/day, and my back is relatively young.

I have a 04 RK Custom.I had the classic solo put on 2 weeks ago.Now I live
about 30 miles from Corbin so I had it custom fitted.I love it, very comfortable and the back rest is what sold me on that model. The back rest slips very easily and if you want to secure it you use an allan wrench when the seat is off. It's pretty cool there is a seat lock to secure it.

Golfer,
You have to remove the seat to install/remove the backrest, but that's a 2 minute job. Adjusting is done with a screw on the back of the backrest, with the backrest installed. I would recommend securing the backrest with the screw under the seat instead of just dropping it in the hole to save a couple minutes.
I agree with Chilly about the firmness of the seat. That, coupled with the width of the Dyna version being only 13", makes it a little uncomfortable for me. I'm considering selling mine and getting a wide Mustang, 16.5". I just looked in the Corbin catalog and the RK solo is just 13.5" wide, I would have guessed it would be wider.
Whatever you do, it will be better than the stock seat.

I just put the same seat on an 04 Custom Road King. The installation went smoothly. To get the back rest on or off is only a matter of unlocking the seat and taking out an allen screw. Takes a matter of seconds.

I had ahellova time on mine.

I just installed a new Classic Solo on my 04' Fatboy last week. Love the seat, but it was hell getting it on. The metal tabs did not line up well with the holes. Really had to push down on the seat and shove things around. Had a buddy put his knee on the seat, pressing down as hard as he could to compress the rubber bumpers, was finally able to get everything to line up correctly.

Say a v-rail on a custom road king today at the easyriders show, looked very cool.

Overall, love the seat, just dont want to take it off anytime soon.
