Recommendations to recover Sundowner seat

I have the “Sundowner™ Deep Bucket Seat – Smooth” and would like to get it recovered in vinyl. The threads are too tight, are pulling and holes are starting. I’m not interested in any modifications as the seat fits us perfectly. I’m also not interested in going after-market as I don’t want to replace the rider or passenger backrests.

What I am interested in are recommendations of businesses that forum members know do professional work. I have found Cee Bailey’s in California but I don’t know anything about them. I also left a message with Mean City Cycles but their order form only lists modifications. A few local upholstery shops aren't interested.

Any help is appreciated.

No replies? I know you asked this three years ago - did you ever find someone?

No replies and I gave up on repairing the seat which was not covered under the ESP. However, the ESP did cover a blown tranny (45,000 miles), a blown engine (56,000 miles) and 5 HK radios so I just traded in the '09 TriGlide.

I was hoping there was an answer too. My sundowner is beginning to pull apart at the seams and is in need of repair. Fits great so no modifications. Haven't tried one of those vinyl repair kits. They just don't look like they would hold up.

I also had an additional problem where the seat would retain water. The best way to describe it would be that water would "wick" from the bottom. When someone sat on the seat, their butt would get wet and it was embarrassing. Moisture would come through the stitching. I never had this problem in HD seats I purchased in the 70's - 80's. Harley's position was that seats were moisture resistant, not waterproof so "wicking" was to be expected, especially since I ride in storms but that means my seat is wet most of the riding season.

If a seat with bad stitching was replaced during the original warranty, I often got lucky and had no wicking problems (quality control problem?).
