Seats: Badlander vs La Pera
I am looking at buying a stream line seat or a solo seat for my 06 EGC for running without my tour pak. I narrowed it down to either a La Pera Solo (LH-005) or a Badlander (52265-01A)
I tried a corbin, and it was way to hard and couldn't ride it much further then 50 miles (in some serious pain). - I realize that I will not get the comfort out of either of these seats that I get from my Zeppelin, but I am looking for comfort an quality feedback on these 2 seats.
I am hoping to get something that I can ride on and get a good look without the pack for a reasonable price. These 2 seats both run about the same price (under $200).

I have a Badlander on my Low Rider. it's a sleek low profile seat, but not much support for long distance riding. I've heard LaPera is similar. IMO if you're going for a low profile seat you'll need to have a firm seat (like the Corbin) as you'll be sitting down on the seat pan. I found my butt got used to the Corbin after awhile and now I like it.

I have a La Pera maverick on my sporty, granted it is not a solo but what I have noticed so far is that at first I was worried about it being to firm but after a few hundred miles it broke in nicely. It is still on the firmer side as far as seats go but not uncomfortably so. I can go most of the day without my ass getting to sore. Compared to my Heritage classic seat it is a rock, but that being said the quality of the construction is second to none and I am actually thinking about picking up a second one for my softail. So yeah I pretty much think La Pera seats rock, good mix of style, comfort, and price.

I had a good quality memory foam installed on my badlander. Wise choice!

I bought a Badlander for my FXDL a couple of summers ago. It looks a lot better than stock, but it is a hard seat. If I am going to ride for any long distances I put the stock seat back on. I am encouraged by the comments in this thread about the seat "breaking in" though. Maybe it will get more comfortable with more miles.

firm seat
My son has a lapera two up seat on a 97 springer softail and i cannot sit on it for any length of time. It looks great and suits him as he does not ride much and the LOOK is what he is after.

Lepera for me. Looks, comfort, A hard seat will break in, or your Butt gets used to it.. That's how it works for me..

Yo Gnarl78,
The picture is sooo small I can't really tell but, what year is your bike? Mine is a 1994 fltcu and it looks very much like yours. Just curious!

Bike in profile pic is 2006 FLHTCUI taken on Needles Hwy near Mt. Rushmore. Traded this past December for 2008 FLHTCUSE3.

I have the lapera, rode it for 2 blocks and returned to "mancave"! I found a shop called " boss hogg" here in dallas to rework the seat.
im 185lbs. shes 125lbs. hes adding two gel inserts and raising it up 1/2" plus adding real leather.
I cant speak on the new feel and appearance. buta.. that seat was just to low, flat custioned and "el cheapo" vynal. lol!
cheaper to take your seat and have someone rework it. way.... cheaper! lol!
