seat mods

Yes, I want to mod my current 2 up SG seat by lowering and adding gel for me and gel pac the back passenger section. Any info on who may be performing such mods would be appreciated.

yep, mine was 50bux and was done the same day, he didnt recomend the gel pad though and that surprised me. I ride 50 miles one way to work and he said that the gel pad would get hard and wouldnt be comfortable, any thoughts on that ??

yes the gel can get hard. the worst thing i found about the gel was that it heats up and holds the heat so you get swamp butt faster. for me it was worse than the stock seat.

How long does it take for the gel to harden. I have friend who had it put on his seat and he loves it As far as the heat He hasn't complained and to say it gets hot here in VA is an understatement.

I'm on my second C&C seat with gel and haven't noticed any hardening of the gel or any unusual heat retention,,I did go with leather which seems to help aleviate the swamp ass that some people complain about, the vinyl factory seats hold ALOT more heat than the leather...just my personal observations and I wouldn't have spent the money to buy a second leather seat with gel if I'd experienced any issues in the first one.

I did my own, on a 01 Honda Shadow Spirit. I shaved it down, added a gel layer, then a layer of Memory foam. Then trimmed it to mimmick the original pad profile and added the cover back. It took almost all the vib out, and the memory foam is supper comfy, and stays pretty cool. It was more for my wife's comfort than mine. but it did give almost as much comfort as a mustang seat..

A sheepskin does wonders for long runs, wicks the moisture away from you. I like the idea of shaving my current seat for better leg room. How do you restaple the cover to the base?
