Saddlemen seats???

Trying to find a new seat for my '96 Road King and the selection is pretty limited. I am currently running the stock seat and p-pad. I also have a Mustang Regal but it sits me too far forward.

The only other reasonably priced seat I have been able to find is from Saddlemen. Anyone had any experience with their seats???

Thanks,
BK

I have a 2000 Road King Classic with several seats. I was using the stock seat for two-up riding and bought a Corbin Classic Solo for just one-up riding. My wife hated the stock seat so I bought a passenger pilon to attach to the Corbin seat. She didn't like the Corbin passenger seat either so as a last resort I bought the Saddlemen's Road Sofa. She likes the Saddlemen's the best. For me it's about a toss up between the Corbin and Saddlemen's for comfort except for the fact the Saddlemen's sets me a little further forward, which I don't care for. With the Corbin my legs are stretched out when my feet are on the highway pegs but are bent when using the Saddlemen's. I still use the Corbin when riding solo because I can stretch out and it's maybe a little more comfortable for me.

Saddleman seats are well made and very comfortable. If you call them up and give them your hight, weight, inseam they will make a seat to your specifications. Great seat/company.

There's plenty of seats out there if you look around. Saddleman is a good one but there's also C&C, Corbin, Danny Gray, Le Pera plus at least a couple of seat re-builders (Rich's, for one) that will custom modify your stock seat to fit
Good luck.

I had one and loved it, my buddy had one and hated it. (both road sofas on '94 Classics)He had about 2500 miles on it when he changed back to the stock seat. As a matter of fact I have his road sofa out back in a shed.

seats

Hey guys,
Thanks for the responses. I am currently looking at the Profiler series from Saddlemen. I am wanting to lower my seating position and get a little farther back than I am now also.

I have also considered having my stock seat altered at a local upholstery shop.

If I hadn't been looking at those darn Street Glides and RKC seats none of this would have come up. I really like the clean look of the smaller seat and how it flows with the body and frame.

Thanks again,
BK

Between my Road Glide and Electra Glide Classic alone I must have went though just about every seat company out there.

I even had a few customs and the one seat I go back to is the Lepera daytona. Simple styling but ultra comfortable.

Your question is about the Road Sofa.
I loved the back support and the way the seat wrapped around my back side. My wife liked the back seat and the way it positioned her.

What I didn't like was the way the stock road sofa pushed me up on the tank.
I'm not long legged at all (30" inseam) and even I felt it pushed me up to close up front.
My back (between my shoulders) would get uncomfortable because of the way it positioned my arms on the bars.
I also felt the forward position spread my legs out a little and didn't allow me to place my feet down comfortably.

I guess if you had Saddlemen make you a seat to your specs that would resolve those issues but I'm also guessing the cost would be over $600 by the time it was all said and done.

It seams to me seats are like shoes. What fits one butt may not fit another.

Right now I'm on the stock Electra Glide Classic seat. It works well and looks good with the tour pac on but I think its butt ugly when the pacs off. (to big and bulky). I'll go back to the Lepera when I decide what bike I'm going to stick with.
