New Mustang Seat-Love it!!

On my EG Classic 2009 I installed the driver and passenger Mustang seats and backrest and couldn't be happier. It is harder than the OEM seat but I can ride for hours now without getting back and butt pain and with the OEM seat I could only ride 50-100 miles then would have to take a break. Plus I think they look great. However in saying that not all seats do or dont do the same for all butts and backs. I did notice the Mustang was rubbing against my plastic side panels. I fixed this by putting one washer on each bolt between the gas tank and seat tongue and frame raising the tongue up a small notch. Did the job great. Also the Mustang had a little side to side play at the tongue insert. I used a rubber plug in the insert and that fixed it perfectly keeping the seat from moving side to side and kept it perfectly straight to the tank and in the middle of the tank console.

I just put a Mustang on mine... fits perfectly, no issues with alignment or rubbing. Plus it's about a hundred times more comfortable than the stock seat, even after the rebuild we had done. Big PLUS for Mustang for sure!

Let me word it a different way. The Mustang I bought used but he never used it so it was new. He bought his for an earlier year model but I had about 1/2 inch of play at the tongue and that was an easy fix. The washers were used because I use RJS Heat Shields and the way they are mounted they lay between the seat and the plastic side panels. Without them it would have not been an issue.

Bottom line is my back and butt are happy I made the Mustang purchase.

Yep. They don't make one to fit the Vespa.

Wife likes it too, says it's very comfy.

My '09 SG had play in the front with the stock seat. Some electical tape on the tongue did it.

Does anyone have a Mustang on a 2009 SG? I believe the seat will be fine. Just curious how it looks with a puffier pillion.

We just finished a week long trip with 600-mile days on each end, plus at least a hundred or more every day in between. It's the first time we'd tried going that far on the new Mustang, and it's definitely a keeper. I find I don't use the highway pegs much any more, I can just maintain my regular riding position and it's comfortable for a couple of hours at a time.
