solo seat positioning (Corbin & C&C)
I've got a custom solo seat (harleyseats.com) on my '07 SG that I love, but it doesn't allow for a rider backrest... and I need a backrest... So, I'm looking at other seat options...
The two main things I like about my current seat are the millenium foam and the fact that its sculpted to allow me to sit a bit lower and 1 to 2" further back on the bike than the stock SG seat. This helps my overall riding position tremendously (6'2, long arms & legs)...
As options I'm considering the Corbin classic solo and the C&C solo...
Not looking for an opinion on either company, but have questions about the seats themselves...
Can anyone comment on the riding position of the two seats above compared to a stock SG seat? Are you lower/higher/same? Further forward/back/same?
Assuming that the stock version if either seat will be too close for me, anyone have experience with having either seat modified to move the rider position back? And more importanly, can this be done and still allow for use of the rider backrest?
Finally, a question somewhat specific to Corbin... if I decide to go with this seat, I anticipate a visit to their factory to do fitting adjustment. Any thoughts on whether the better option is to order the standard seat online (best price) and take that in versus buying a seat directly from Corbin to be fitted?
Thanks,
-James
