New Seat on the Cross Bones

Hadda do it. The spring seat that's OEM on the 'Bones was just about 1.5" too far forward - even when adjusted aft. I kept finding myself sliding up on the edges instead of sitting in the middle of the damn thing...
Not to mention the Py-tussy pad was too hard on the GF's butt.
I originally grabbed a Sundowner from BH-D but while it worked for her, it let me feel EVERY imperfection in the roads...
So I went for the Mustang One-Piece Extra Wide Regal Duke...
Yeah! That's what I'm tallkin bout! Nice padding...Good lumbar support...nice riding position & it works for her, as well...
Hadda take the worthless back pad off to get the sissy bar on, but it still looks good without it...
If I can remember how FunkyNova66 taught me to get pix from photobucket to here, I'll post a couple of pix...

Yes, a picture will surely be nice!

Problem I had sitting on a buddies seat (like the one you took off) was that it sat way too high for me. Real curious what a different style seat looks like on that bike.

Even if you sacrificed some looks, can't blame you for getting rid of some discomfort.
Hopefully you gave up nothing!

OK...Found the instructions...

It was a workout to get this thing on...
"Some disassembly required..."
Hadda remove my seat, her pilion, the sissy bar, the plastic pan fairing & the bracket with the mounting pins for the OEM spring seat, but it seems to be worth it - so far...
I only put about 10 miles on it...
I'll get 40+ tomorrow to work & back...
The BIG test will be 5-Million mile Monday (29 Jun)...
The H.O.G. chapter has got a 342 round-trip ride planned...
Troy, NY to up 22A on the East side of Lk Champlain to Burlington, VT to Grand Isle & the Ferry across the lake to Plattsburgh & back down the Western side of Lk Champlain...
I will report back then...

Hey DAKSY, the seat looks comfy for both you and the girlfriend! It looks like its got one hell of a back support system going on. I actually like it on there. How are the long trips with it?
