How universal are seats?

I'm getting ready to pick up an 04' FLHTPI this weekend with a fat, thick, and ugly two-up seat. I'm looking to buy a sleak low profile seat and was wonder what other models seats will fit.

Will RK seats fit?

Seats should be interchangeable on touring bikes of similar years. The caveat being the length of the nose of the seat. I know that the Road Glide has a longer nose on the seat (and a shorter dash panel on the tank) than a Street Glide.

96-06 touring bikes had 2 different configurations depending on how long the dash was. The shorter nose seats fit on the shorter dash, but there is a spacer available.
