Question Looking for new Road Glide Seat

Hey guys, I am in the market for a new Road Glide seat. The factory one sits way too high for me (I'm on my tip toes at stops) and the seat is too wide for my skinny azz. The inner parts of my theighs are killing me after a few hours riding. I need a seat that will sit my down low and is comfortable. I also would like to have a seat that has a nice passenger seat cusion for the wife,. I plan to have a factory standard back rest so the seat should somewhat fit that style if possible.

So far I have found these:

Corbin Gambler http://www.corbin.com/harley/baggers/hdflh9gam.shtml

Lepera Villian- Check out touring bike section... http://www.lepera.com/

Saddleman Explorer http://www.saddlemen.com/store/index...oducts_id=7240

Any suggestions appreciated.

Thanks,
Dave

RG7 is an unknown quantity at this point
That Corbin seat doesn't look like there's much passenger area. The Saddlemen looks like it will sit you to high and push you forward.

The lowest seat I've had for my RG was a HD Rally runner seat. That seat sat me low and back. I sold it to a friend of mine (he loves it and won’t sell it back to me) when I bought a Danny Gray Fat seat which I had to send out to Mean city cycles. The Fat seat was just too uncomfortable, now it’s fine. Mean City lowered it, pushed it back and replaced the stock foam with memory foam.

But looking back I should have kept that Rally Runner seat. I'm even thinking of getting another one and sending it out to Mean City cycles so they can insert their memory foam. I would also keep the stock dimensions, that seat was perfect for me. I'm 6'4' and it gave me plenty of leg room.

Do yourself a big favor and look at the Corbin Classic Solo. Call Jenni at Tri-County H-D for 20% off. You can add a touring pillion for when you have a passenger.

The seat height was my biggest complaint about my Road King. The Corbin Classic Solo move me down and back (6' tall) which was the desired affect.

Dave,

I purchased the Corbin Close Solo Saddle and passenger Pillion.
I had them shave the nose and push me up a bit.

I am 5'8 and I HATED the stock seat. This whole seat up is GREAT (for me) the inner thighs aren't flared out, I sit flat footed with sneakers and I have my Roland Sands Bars a wee bit forward and I can ride all day.

My wife LOVES the passenger pad size, she can do the long haul.

my .02

Brian

I put a link to some pics of my bike in your other post.

I can prolly pop off a pic or 2 before I leave for my Rad trip and post them with the Corbin set up on it.

While I have heard good things about the Saddlemen and Corbin, how about letting Mean City Cycles rebuild your current seat? Tell them your height, weight and inseam, and they can recommend which modification would be best for you. Besides, they are a pretty easy ride from where you are and they don't mind if you bring the bike in for your appointment.

I'll be sending my RG seat to them in a couple of weeks, and will post my impressions back on this forum when I get it.

Having said all of that, I used to have a Mustang two-up seat on my Sportster and loved it. Put a similar one on my RG and hated it. Go figure.
