Harley Hammock Touring Seat pn.53051-09
Anybody using this? Looks like a pretty good set up. It's supposed to sit 1 inch higher which works for me and the internal suspension sytem looks like it would work pretty good. The stock FLHT seat is ok but this one should help smoothg out the crappy roads around here plus raising the seating area will ease my knees.....
Just wondering if anyone picked one up yet..

I just put one on my '09 Road Glide that i picked up on ebay. I only have a few hundred miles on it so far so I can't speak much about the long term comfort. The guys down at the HD shop say they have heard lot's of good things about them.
I am 6'2" so the extra 1" seat height is fine for me, but the guy I bought it from had to sell it because his feet hardly touched the ground!

What I am interested in, is the seat (p/n 53051-09) compatable with a 2006 FLHTCUI?

Fits '08-later Touring models (except FLHTCUTG). Does not fit models equipped with Passenger Grab Rail P/N 91583-99.

Ok, I can read the HD parts catalog as well as any one, I was just wondering if there was anyone out there that has had experiece with the seat on anything before 2008. HD parts people just seem to read the parts catalog and quote "Fits '08-later Touring models"

Hammock Seat
I have an 09 Ultra with a Harley Hammock seat. I just finished a trip from LA to Fort Worth Texas. The Hammock seat was fantastic.
One of the days I did over 600 miles with no problem. I know every butt and every seat is different, but for me the Hammock was great.
Here is a link to my post about the trip with pictures

Stew

I agree. For the kind of money HD gets for their bikes it should come with a quality seat to begin with. I'd ride on a piece of plywood before buying one of their seats.

I plan to pick one up soon, seems like the best bang for the buck. Mustangs are a little hard for me and I wouldnt piss on a Corbin if it was on fire.

Both the wife and I love the seat...It did add some height so if you're short you may have a harder time getting feet to the ground or if tall the stock windscreen might not be as adequate.

I bought one with my '09 Ultra and today, just for comparison, I put the stock seat back on to try it. The stock seat bugs me right on the tailbone so the Hammock is going back on again. It's like night and day. I'm glad I had it for our 3900+ mile trip in July.
The only complaint I have is that my passengers slide forward on the Hammock. My wife and daughter have to reposition themselves every 20 minutes or less and it can be annoying.

Interesting, I bought one for my 09 Road Glide and I've noticed the same thing (passenger sliding forward) on my bike. I do like the comfort of the seat, but it is freaking huge looking on the bike. I use the stock seat for anything under 150-200 miles a day,and the Hammock for anything longer (like when the bike is loaded for touring and the looks don't bother me so much).
The wife does like it much better than the stock seat.
