C&C Squareback questions

Looking to replace my Sundowner with a C&C Squareback. Given that my typical non-commuting ride is over 200 miles, should I get the gel inserts, or is the seat fine as-is? Also, their stitching looks really good, but does it get uncomfortable on long rides?

I am sitting here waiting for my C & C squareback to be delivered. UPS tracking says it is out for delivery. It will replace the cool looking but rock hard badlander seat on my '03 Fatboy. I am hoping that I like it. Supposed to be good seats.

I got my C & C Squareback for my fatboy last. week. It is a 100 X more comfy than the badlander seat that I had on it. Rode for about 1 1/2 hours yesterday with no issues. Going for a long ride later today. Fit and finish are great. One of the nicest seat I have ever looked at. I am very happy with it.

Went for a long ride on Sunday. I went about 1 1/2 hours before the first stop and my butt felt great. Normally, I would have been squirming, moving all over the place to get some relief but not this time. Very comfy. Go for it and get one!

Brian,
I ride a 04' Fatboy and interested in replacing the original seat with a solo C & C.
Did you purchase any optional stitching or inserts? Regarding mounting, does the squareback have the steel tongue at the nose or use a bracket assembly? How's the back support?

Thanks,
NICK

Mine is black leather with flame stitching. I was going to go with the gel insert but decided not to. Back support is awesome. With 7" lumbar support, I dont ever see myself wanting a drivers backrest. It has the tongue at the nose for installation. Hope this helps.

Does the flame stitching cause pressure points on long trips?

Ordered it tonight, leather, no gel, with stitching on the front. Find out in 2 weeks how it is.

Seat showed up today. It looks great, and felt comfortable sitting in the shed. Once I get my brake issues sorted out I'll take some pictures and give a ride report.

I just received my CC Fastback. Plain leather and no gel and with the hardware for a rider backrest. When I ordered it I asked for gel but the guy who took the order talked me out of it. He says 90% are sold without the gel and that the gel retains heat. I have not ridden over 100 miles at a time on it yet but so far it feels great.

Attempt 4 for a Badlander replacement...

Have any of you new C&C customers put any long-distance (or long day) rides on the new seats yet? I've ordered a SportTour 2-up seat for my NT and hopefully it will be here in about a week.

I've tried a few options to replace the stock Badlander. I tried Mustang's Tripper Solo w/ pillion, Danny Gray's Weekday 2-up XL and a Danny Gray Big Seat w/Large pillion.

The Mustang Tripper felt just like the Badlander as far as the driver section- it felt wider at the nose but didn't alleviate the hotspot on my tailbone. The DG Weekday would have been good- had it fit properly...though since it was such a terrible fit, I didn't do more than sit on it for a couple minutes in the garage. And the Big Seat seemed like it would be comfortable, but the nose didn't fit to the tank well, and it looked silly on the NT (too large). Also, the pillion that was sent (from Dennis Kirk) HAD to have been the wrong model- there was no way it could have been mounted, and I think it was too long to fit the fender anyway.

From all the pics I've seen, C&C seats fit great, and so far you guys seem pleased...but what about on a long day in that new C&C saddle?
