Corbin seats and washing?

I'm thinkin' about getting a Corbin seat, but read that they recommend you take it off before washing your bike. Seems like a real pain in the a$$! At least on a V-Rod (seat is connected to swing up for fueling.)

Are those of you with Corbin Seats taking them off to wash your scoot or doing anything else special to protect them from water? Anyone had a bad experience leaving them on when washing?

Thanks!!!

I don't take mine off, thx god i never read instructions. However, when i "wash" the bike, i normally use only water, and I don't try to get the seat ant wetter than I need to.

I leave my Corbin seat on when I wash the bike. I usually wash the bike about two times a year. I don't do anything special to it except to try to get the least amount of water on it possible. I don't want to get a wet butt when I ride the bike to dry it off. After I'm through riding I usually put some Maguire's leather treatment (not the exact name) on the seat that day or the next to keep it well conditioned. I also apply some Maguire's on the seat every couple of months.

Lightnin is an unknown quantity at this point
I take mine off. I do so because it allows me access to wash/polish nooks and crannies. I also treat my leather Corbin after I'm done washing the bike....but mine isn't a pain to take on and off.

Always wash it with the seat on and never had a problem and this is my 4th Corbin. Water just tends to bead up on 'em. I do put some corbin leather "stuff" on it evey couple of months -- no problems.

On the V-ROD just flip the seat up and slide a plastic shopping bag over it and close to wash. When done open and take it off. I don't have a Corbin on mine but I don"t like getting a wet rear!

another approach- Corbin will sell a rain cover for any any seat they make. I put it on when I wash it.

So do they recommend that you don't ride in the rain?
