HD seats, a poor fit

Hi all,

So I've got my new 2008 1200 Sportster Custom. At the same time I bought the Brawler leather solo seat as I wanted the look and a small rack at the back..... Simple eh? Well it's all HD gear but the seat moves around at the front side-to-side. The front tang that locates into the tank is about a third of the size of the factory fitted seat, been back to the shop and there all the same - so what's going on?

So the only way I got it fitted secure was the slice up a pencil eracer and jam them in before the seat. This shouldn't have to happen but there you go.....

Anyone else had to come up with silly solutions for poor fitting factory parts?

Mouse, Do you remember what part number the Brawler Seat was? There are 2 part numbers for the Brawler seat; one fits your bike and one doesn't.

The only part numbers were on the box and we checked them over and it's the right seat. The seat fits perfectly onto the frame and I have sorted it somewhat.

I have not had fitment problems ether, i change them. My ass and harleys seat have never got'n along well enough to keep ant on long enough to worry about a wiggle. Best production seat or aftermarket seat i have had is a saddleman explorer. The more i ride it the better it fits .

Hell yes the more you ride it the better it fits. Remember the new ones ,you just apologize first for the pour performance but always say that the ride will be much better with each following ride.
