Corbin Solo (RKF-97) on an 06 FLHR

Just bought a Corbin Solo seat, stock number RKF-97, from AmericanClassicMotors.net. The eBay advert states that it will fit a 2006 rk standard bike (which is what i have). I contacted Corbin customer service dept and they say that the RKF-97 model solo seat only fits up to and including 2005.

Does anybody have any info on this model seat or successfully put one on a 06 FLHR?

Guess I will try and fit the seat after work today unless I hear otherwise.

Thanks,
Lance.

Nothing like talking to one self

Well, i tried on the seat. It does .... not fit. The holes at the rear of the seat do not line up with the bolts in the fender. Not on a '06 flhr. With a little work, they might just fit if you enlarge the two holes. But, that is not really a good fit so back it goes. Hope ACM.net is agreeable to this.

Thanks,
Lance.

Final chapter

Well it has been months since I bought the seat. Haggled with ACM. Tried to get eBay to get involved. Finally bit the bullet and paid the $50.00+ return shipping. ACM did refund the cost of the seat. However, I was down by about $70.00 in shipping costs (both ways).

Strange how it is always the customer that takes the rap. The advertisement was in error. I notice that now they have changed the advert and included the Corbin part number.

Sadly, by the time the refund arrived, the option to leave feedback was not available.

Oh well, once bitten, twice shy.

Lance.
