Seat over Saddlebags?

I bought a pair of trow over saddlebags and now it appears that I need a longer bolt for the rear mount on the fender. I slid the yoke for the bags under the seat.

Is there something I'm missing here?

I've always been able to use the stock seat bolt, so I guess it depends on the leather thickness and how the underside of the seat is made...... NO, I'm a liar. The bike that has the saddlebags under the seat is a Softail Custom with the little bobbed luggage rack over the back of the fender. It came with a longer bolt to install it, which must have left me enough threads for the saddlebags also.
In any case, it's standard US thread, at least on mine. Should be pretty easy to come up with something a bit longer.
