However, I've run into all kinds of bikers over the years, and most of them are great friendly folks.
I just think the negativity is a bit higher here than what I see on other boards.
I made an honest mistake, and I said I was sorry for it.
I'm sure $35 bucks a month is a gonga for an ad here.
I avoid negativity as much as possbible in life, it's just to short.

As is the case with any close knit group, in particular, one that boasts nearly 10,000 members, the general mood will swing from side to side. It is somewhat of a seasonal mood swing, meaning, if it is election time, normal choosing of sides takes place along with the debates as to "why I support Pat Paulson for President."
If a decision to go to War is looming ahead, there is a lot of anxiety at the anticipation of the ultimate cost verses the need to make the sacrifice.
In a group of 10,000 you will have your die hard Chevy Fans exchanging piss with the Ford crew. The Republicans will tell the Democrats where to go while the Jackass tries to hump the Elephant.
However..........
Let one member be reported down and watch the group come together. A guy you were argueing with weeks before, you find yourself calling in the hospital to make sure he is allright.
Much of what can be viewed as negative is nothing more than the frustration of communicating with a keyboard. It is a hard way to carry a conversation and deliver the proper meaning.
There are things that can be read and found offensive that if spoken, would not raise the same eyebrow.
Negativity can easily be avoided here however. Most folks have the ability to just ignore a thread that is headed South. Most of those get reported so the Moderators have to check them out and consider the validity of the Report. Very few reported posts actually need administartive action. Those that do will surely bring the objections that we have seen of late. No big deal, it happens.
You mentioned avoiding negativity and that is cool. Being a Sponsor should be approached simply from a business perspective.
Q: Is it good business to advertize Biker Products on a Biker site that has close to 10,000 members and is growing daily?
A: ---- --- !
Q: Would I as a bussinessman sell to someone who I otherwise really don't want to talk to?
A: ---- --- !!!
Point is, you could be a sponsor and never say two words to anyone here so it really does not matter what mood the place takes so long as there are active and potential buyers present.
Weigh the activity level against the cost of sponsorship.
Whatever you decide is cool. The Moderators cannot allow Spam for the clear and obvious reasons and do not remove such posts out of spite. I am the one who edited your post and removed the link. I had no ill will in doing so. I was protecting the rights of our present Sponsors the same as I would protect your rights if you decided to become one.
Good luck in your decision. By all means, whatever you decide, stick around anyway and Welcome to The VT either way.
