Just got back yesterday from a ride to Boone, NC. Give the colors another week at least. Some color there, not enough yet. Avoid the parkway. Ride the back roads. Better scenery. Stop at the little country stores and meet the local people. Much fun. West Virginia and Northern Virgina mountains are the greatest.
The parkway will be packed with cagers. If you are like me, once on the parkway is enough. It all tends to look the same after a while.

A little early

No color yet at north end of the Skyline Drive. I rode west out of Winchester to Paw Paw WV to Cumberland MD Sunday very little color. Trees are beginning to turn light green a few yellows.

Had a really good Reuben at D'Antri in La Vale MD though and my buddies said the Cheesesteaks were great.

Nows the time

Rode to DC Thursday, took the backroads comin home. Leaves not quite peak.

Maple in my back yard was green yesterday today completely yellow. Interesting what a difference a day makes. We had heavy frost Monday morning and light rain yesterday, good formula. I can see the mountain where the entrance to the Skyline Drive is from the window I'm looking out now and the colors are lookin real good.

If ya like leaf peepin, now would be a good time.
