I almost rode up to Glendora Ridge road yesterday with a buddy that lives in OC and rides a beamer but we decided to save that for another day when time was short.
Instead we rode up I-5 to 166 west into Maricopa where we took 33 north to 58 west and rode across California Valley and on into Santa Margarita where we caught 101 south to Santa Maria and 166 east to 33 south through Ventucopa, where we stopped at 'The Place' for a great meal of BBQ tri-tip and chicken with beans and tater salad, ten on south through Sespi Gorge in the Los Padres Nat. Forest and Ojai and into Ventura where we caught the 101 back to L.A. for a trip of about 450 miles.
My new windshield reduced fatigue from wind buffeting so much it almost seemed like a ride around the block.
Incidently, that section of 58 between McKittrick and Ca. Valley is one of the best roads to ride in S. Ca. if you've never been on it you should give it a try.
Remember to fuel up at Taft if you take 33 to 58 or at the exit from I-5 if you take I-5 to 58. There is no place to get Fuel untill you get to Santa Margarita a distance of around 90 miles.
We met up at Roxford St. in Sylmar at 9:30 AM and parted company at Valley Circle at 6:00 pm.
I didn't take my camera, forgot again, but here are the pics my buddy Jim took;
