Seattle to LA 3000+ miles ?

I am looking for some ideas for must see and things to avoid on a 3000 mile road trip.
Seattle to LA and back home through Vegas, Utah, Idaho, MT and back to Seattle via Lolo pass. Tentative route is Seattle to Grants Pass then over to Crescent City, Ca to 101 to Santa Rosa CA. to Santa Cruz, Big Sur then LA
Return trip through Vegas then Zion and Bryce Canyon NP to Ogden,UT to Pocatello ID then over Lolo pass back into WA and home to Seattle .
All in 2 weeks in mid August, I know it’s going to be hot!!! I just installed an oil cooler on my 08 SG and I am advising others to do the same. Some other details, 8 other bikes 1 truck with a bike trailer camping about half the time. Some days are 400+ mile days any advice would be appreciated.

Be sure to have alternative plans and stop to see the scenery. You may actually want to have a couple of days with no riding. Once it becomes a chore, it just isn't fun anymore.
