Montana to Min-Wis-Mic, what should I SEE!! : V-Twin Forum: Harley Davidson Forums

First long ride of our short riding season, Missoula, MT to Minnesota to Wisconsin to Michigan and back through South Bend to home. May 23 to Jun 6, 14 days and 7,000 miles later. Camping, moteling, military base lodging based on location and sites to see. What key points/sites/attraction would you recommend? I have a inital route mapped out, hard copy and GPS Garmin 550. All can be altered based on good recommendations, please provide feedback. Thank you for your time!!

trail of trees which is right around the Mac Bridge nice tight curves right along the lake front. Rode it last summer with father in law as we did MI/WI together after I rode up from GA.

Drop by the Aerostich factory in Duluth, MN. Great place for MC related gear. Thumb area of Wisconsin very nice and so is the MN side of the Mississippi River. Go to Red Wing Boot factory in Red Wing, MN.

UP of Michigan is very scenic and has great camping.

Route your trip through the area around Sturgis (no, not for the rally). Gorgeous country - Mt. Rushmore, Devil's Tower, etc.

Look over the Wisconsin rustic roads map. And, if you're in south-central Wisconsin, consider parking your ride and heading to the top of Gibraltar Rock.

Man, I spent a lot of time at Gibraltar when I was in high-school. Awsome place.
