Lake Tahoe, somemore help, please
Heading from lake Tahoe down to yosemite, shall I take the 395 and come in from the east or on one of following, 88, 4, 108, and come in from the west. I want to take the most scenic route as I will only be doing this once.

I'd take 395 to Lee Vining and catch 120.Yosemite is a frigg'n tourist trap IMHO and $hit loads of people...But it IS beautiful!

+1 for 395. It is a spectacularly beautiful ride. If you have time, make a side trip to Bodie. It's a large ghost town, although the road out to it is gravel and can be quite washboardy. It is worth the ride, though, since you'll only be doing this once. Stop in Bridgeport and have breakfast at Hays Street Cafe - awesome sourdough pancakes. There are also hot springs just outside of Bridgeport that are worth checking out. If you want to stay there, stay at the Bodie Victorian Hotel. Another worthwhile side trip is to stop at Mono Lake and see the tufa, limestone formations that are really odd looking.
Once you hit Tioga Pass (120), you'll enter Yosemite through Tuolumne Meadows. This is high country (8600') and will probably still have snow in May. If you're lucky and it doesn't, be sure to have some hiking boots with you. There are some gorgeous hikes in that area. You can then drop down to Yosemite Valley and check out the waterfalls. If you're feeling spendy, stay the night at the Yosemite Lodge. Even though there will be lots of other people around, the Valley is not to be missed.

another thumbs up for the tioga pass, you can come from tahoe through alpine county and then west on 4 through Big Tree and then through Calavaras I there is another road east from alpine(an even higher pass) to the 395, but it is a tiny, lonely road and ride with a friend, just in case.

I would go the 395 route. I love the area and was up there a few years back. The wife and I on the scoot and a pocket full of winnings from Tahoe. We each hit a Royal Flush on dollar machines. You have got to ride around Tahoe at least once.

From Tahoe take 50 to 89 to 395 and the East entrance of the park.
Tuolumne Medows Lodge has a good steak. Oops, closed for the winter. You better call and see what roads are OPEN.
Be real careful, the traffic in the park crazy. I ask the Ranger at the gate to tell the next ten cars "NOT TO TAILGATE".
Hwy 108 is almost as good as Yosemite, without the traffic.
Checkout the Jamestown H-D shop. They have a "room for rent".

Bodie Photos
Here are a few photos of Bodie I took a few years ago. First time I was there was in 1962 when it was a REAL ghost town. It's still VERY cool...

I went the last week of June into the first week of July. I was told in Wyoming though that I was very fortunate not to run into snow in some areas. I had a higher power watching over me on this trip though so no luck involved.
