Question Natchez Trace - What not to miss?

Greetings all,

We are running the Natchez Trace in May from Nashville to Natchez. I have read alot about it and can't wait for the trip.

For those of you that have run the Trace, What are the stops not to be missed? and what stops were less than exciting in your opinion? I am hoping to make the most of the trip so your opinion counts.

Thanks in advance

Natchez...the town itself.

In Natchez if ya want high end quisine try "The Csstle". It will cost ya a smooth 100 for a couple if ya have drinks but quite good. Wear slacks. More reasonable...prime rib at Kings Tavern...oldest house in Natchez if I remember right, and cool ambiance...wear jeans Also, Longwood. Was partly finished when Civil war broke out. Bottom floor finished but the rest still as it was when the boys left in a hurry to go to war. Interesting. of course, all the antebellums are nice if you're into the tour thing. I ride the trace Locally sometimes...Great ride but 55 mph gets old at times. And the smoky don't play on the trace...Be safe and enjoy.

I have riden the Trace twice. I will admit it was mostly a ride and I did not stop alot. I did stop at the Park office and the Ranger there pointed out a few must see places to stop and see though.
Your best bet is have them send you the color map and mark places of interest. I do know there is a Amish community to the East of the Trace somewhere towards the Northern end that I was told it was worth a look. It is beautiful but slow, I just had to make my mind up that I was not in a hurry and enjoy it. The speed is strictly enforced and make sure you have a DOT helmet. When you get to Natchez make sure you visit the high Bluff at the North end of town, you can ride right up to it. Also visit the shops/bars at the bottom of the hill where the Casino Boat ties up. Look out for the critters, you usually see alot of them.

Tuelo

Me and my cousin rode the Trace last Fall. Be sure and stop in Tupelo and visit with Elvis. Sit on the front porch swing and visit awhile
