HD rental info and advise

Good day all,

I am planning a bike ride from the LA area to Miami. I want to rent a HD for this. Any advise on experiences? Should I rent from a HD dealer or Eaglerider? Any input and feedback would be appreciated. Thanks!

More than likely, a dealership will not offer a bike for one way rental. you'll probably have better luck with Eaglerider. Not sure what kind of time frame you're looking at for the ride, but you may also get a better rate for a midweek rental vs. weekend.

You might be better off buying one for that...don't most HD dealers get about $200/day for a rental? Not sure what they get for a weekly....but I would still say it might be pretty pricey.

You meaning the state - LA or Los Angeles? I would also think that once you do that kind of ride you are going to want your own iron horse in the stable too...

20538 will become famous soon enough
I'm not sure about the one way ride, but do think you'd need to return the bike to a dealer if that's where you rented it from. I rented a Street Glide a few years ago locally and it was $70 per day and I added insurance which made it $100 per day. Signature HD in Toledo, OH.

Search here about the insurance. Someone posted a horror story about having an accident with a rented bike and a $2000 deductible. It was a very $$$$ experience.

On 1 hand renting for an interstate trip wouldnt be too bad an idea,if you have a low excess/deductible you dont have to worry about checking on it every 5 mins to make sure its still there every time you stop for fuel, food etc...,or find somewhere secured or monitored to park it.
