My first real ride, the 5 lakes around Mount Fuji, Japan.

I just bought my first Harley two weeks ago, and was able to get out on a Labor Day ride around Mt. Fuji. We left at 5:30am sharp, and I was back home just after 3:00pm. The pace here is Japan is slow, and we we took our time around the famous mountain stopping at the five lakes that border the northern half. Overall we rode 180 mi. and I averaged 56MPG This bike is great, I'm a bit big for it, and the saddle is only confortable for about 90min or less at a time, but it'll be great for the wife when it comes time for me to upgrade.

Thanks pronounced the same as "psycho"

Miahallen,
Those are nice photos, Man.

Are you AD mil in Japan? I'll be at Yokota to teach at their medical group
the week after next Sept 14-19, Misawa next week.

It'd be cool if the visit was for riding,
but it's for work and maybe a little sightseeing around Tokyo.

The last time I was in/on/around Fujiyama was 17 yrs. ago on a MWR mountain
climb from Misawa. I was 432nd medical up there from Oct 1990 to Nov 1992.
I've been back a couple of times to teach in my current job.

Yeah, I'm in the Information Assurance Security Officer, 78th Signal Battalion for the US Army Japan (Kanto Plain only, not Okinawa). I'm stationed at Camp Zama about 20 mi SW of Tokyo.

I'm getting out of the Army next May and plan to move back to the Seattle area to earn my degree.

Good luck in your next life

M,
Thanks for the reply. It's been 18+ years and a pretty neat deal in the USAF - U Sure Are Fuc*ed.
Two yrs in Japan, Alaska for 5, Germany - 3 and a new fraulein, '00-'04 in NM where I finally started riding again and picked up my road handle, and back close to my Dallas home now at Sheppard AFB, TX for past 4 yrs.
It's too late for me now...but, save yourself. And seriously good luck; esp. if you're headed to any sand boxes.
A buddy just e-mailed me yesterday from OEF in $hithoalistan. He's healthy so far and digging the ILO tasking...part-medic/part-convoy turret gunner. I haven't heard a shot fired in anger since 2003 and don't really look forward to anymore. I like my current instructor job...in the rear with the gear.

I'll look for you in two weeks down in Roppongi.
