I was a motorcycle courier in my misspent younger days, but it was mostly around town (Fresno). I never exceeded 800 by any measure so you've already got me beat by a long shot. Iron butts, weigh in.

South of Detroit to Sioux Falls, SD. a total of 870 miles in a day over 14 hours. I was to say the least tired after that ride. it was the first day of 2 week bike vacation across country. 6K in 2 weeks.

Iron butt weighing in. To earn the Bun Burner Gold certificate I rode 1,508 miles in under 24 hours. The entire ride covered 1,621 miles in a little under 26 hours.
This ride was tame compared to what some of the hard core riders do.

The most I have done is around 750 miles. Spent the day riding around So. Lake Tahoe and then home to San Diego. The wife on the back the whole time. She was hurting but a good sport about it. I don't think I will ever do it again.

I did a Saddle Sore 1,000 last year - a little over 1,000 in 17 hours. My wife and I once rode from Chicago to Dalton, GA in one day, which is just under 800. That was two-up and loaded down with gear for a week-long trip.

I did about 400 miles on my Heritage and that was about my max comfortable range. Sure I had a little more in me, but again, 400 'enjoyable' miles. That was with a passenger for more than half of it and on mostly secondary highways. Pure joy riding...no destination in mind. Left central MA, picked someone up in CT, then ended up joy ridin till we crossed the NY line, and then knew it was time to start headin home...
Far cry from you iron butts...

My brothers and I did an Iron Butt Saddle Sore run.
We learned a lot on that ride. Turns out we were very ill prepared. We traveled from Lillington, NC to Nashville, TN and back in under 23 hours. 1123 miles.

Bradenton, FL to Phoenix. 2,200 miles in 42 hours. Slept for a five hours in Texas. Planning is key. Use a backrest and a butt pad so you can move the pressure points around as you ride. Eat well before you leave, drink as much as you can during, snack along the way. Nuts and high protein stuff like that. I checked Map quest to find the closest hotel (H.I. Express in Columbus, TX) to the absolute middle of the trip. Rode 17 hours day one and a little over 19 day two, ran into some bad weather. At the end of day two I discovered that the beer in Phoenix is the best in the whole wide world.

most I've done is just over 100 on my honda...it wasn't really a road trip bike...tank was too small...could only go around 80 miles or so (I usually filled up after 60). Now that i have the FLHTC, I'm planning some much longer trips in the near future, but I'm gonna have to build up to it...250 miles to my parents' place will probably be my first decent trip...then I'll do round trip in one day...then Indianapolis (457 mi) to visit some friends...then Fort Walton Beach, FL (740 mi) to visit my sister. I'll have a bunch of different days trips with lengths between those for practice...it should be good times...can't wait to get this thing on the road

Wow some great trips! The 800 miles I did from PA to AL was the middle day of a three day that started in Vermont and Ended in Texas for a total trip of 1900 mi over the three days. This was the return trip of round trip from Texas to New England and Back totaled 4200 miles in which all the riding was done in 7 days on a 10 day trip. I was a lot younger, and would never think of doing a trip like that again, but is kinda of one of those you can say hey I did it.
