Bell "Street & Steel" B17 helmet - anyone?

Anyone on here rock one of these? I live in CA and am currently sporting a non-DOT that is pretty beat up and therefore it's a risk. Can't afford to deal with the law and don't want to

BUT...I look like an IDIOT with every helmet I've ever tried on, and yeah...it matters, sorry.

SO...yeah, anyone got one of these? are they fairly low profile?

yeah, I've seen the carbon fiber helmets...overpriced IMO

this seems like a decent compromise between legal and OK lookin, vain as it may be.

Give it a try and let us know.. all the good looking bell helmets I have tried on had hard liners. I had same issue with carbon fibor helmets.. very hard liner.. must be my head as alot of otheres seam to be ok with them ?

I was at a local Cycle Gear store picking up some M1 & Spectro oil and I tried on one of their Street & Steel versions of the Bell Drifter helmet. All I can say is ouch - I removed it before even looking at a mirror to see what it looked like. It's a minimally padded helmet that I thought to be the most uncomfortable helmet I've ever worn -but that's me and everyone's head shape is not the same. Good luck...
