Riding gear for us injured riders

Years ago I was in a car wreck and have fractured bones and 4 weeks ago I fell down the steps and hurt my back which is slowly getting better, now that I have gotten back on the bike I was wondering if anyone knows of something I can wear to keep my back straight untill the pain goes away. I tried posting a similar question on a old school site where a bunch ride hardtails which I figure should be harder on a rider but I did not get much results and they closed the thread before I could get any serious answers so I came back to a more friendly site for some much neded advice. I was told about a kidney belt but know nothing about them and where I can find one but is there anything else I can look for.

I think I have seen those at WalMart. The type that movers usually use? Might help some...

I strain muscles in my back occasionally, a kidney belt gives some extra support when needed. Find them at dirt bike shops, I'm sure you can find them online too.

Different things work for different people with back problems. For me, I found that something called "Back-A-Line" did the best job of keeping me riding without pain.

You can try wearing a lifting belt-type device, but it's not a long term solution. Your best bet is to strengthen your core by exercising your abdominal & lower back muscles so they can do a better job supporting your torso.

I rode to work two days in a row and might have to rethink it,I stoppped by the local chiropractor and will be making a appointment to get my back X rayed and see whats going on and get it repaired. My riding days might be over for this year and will stay off it for a few more weeks to heal up since I want to ride to the hillclimbs in early october and then it can sit untill my back is better.

A rider's backrest makes a world of difference for me.
