Riding Pants
I'm looking for some pants that will protect against road rash - should something bad happen.
I've seen the following brands: Draggin', Fieldsheer and Diamond Gusset.
Any suggestions as to what's the most comfortable/effective?

Draggin jeans are great. Spendy, but worth the extra protection, IMO. When you stop, if it's warm weather, expect to be hot.

I got the Diamond Gusset jeans and they're great, well made and comfy. I imagine if we ever get Summer here, they may be a little hot when standing.

I've been checking around. There's a company in Israel called Brosh. Mail your jeans to them, and for $44 + shipping, they'll install kevlar panels in them for you.
Anyone out there tried that service before? Seems like it could be a great option for kevlar jeans (I'm not really liking the color/fit of the company's listed above).

+1 on the Diamond Gusset jeans. The gusset gives the boys room to breathe.

I just wear Levis or Dickies under my chaps, I went down once at about 40 and slid probably 20 yards on my ass and didnt burn through the Levis but I still had a case of the sore ass..

Duluth Trading Fire Hose pants
I gota agree- those are comfortable and tough SOBs. Someone apparently wiped out on their MC in those pants and not a scrape. comes in any color as long as it is brown.
Wife had kelvar lined pants- Hot as heck in the summer. Bohn Armor pants sounds interesting, but not sure how they will fit/look with your jean of choice. Just bought a pair of Carhart 11oz blue jeans... comfy and feels thicker than normal jeans. At least it comes in blue.

When I went down doing 70 a month ago I had on a pair of Lee carpenter pants. The ass held up but the knees didn't. I still have some RR going on on my left knee. I was happy how well they held up though. I will be looking for some Kevlar pants in the future.

FWIW, I have a pair of the Bohn Armor Adventure pants, and they fit just fine beneath my Diamond Gusset Defender jeans. Problem is, they are really hot. I haven't worn them since springtime. You are right about the Kevlar lined stuff being warm too. I am going to check into those firehose jeans.
