Strange Chaps Fitting Question
So I cna't figure this out as to where the Belt of the Chaps sits for waist size.
As I wear a size 30 waist by 32 inseam I would think the Chaps would need to be at least 34-36 waist to go over the top of jean and a belt......Ya I plan on wearing jeans, No Macho Man Village People here.
Or does the Belt of the Chaps ride above the normal Jean/Belt combo?
Thanks
Karsten

My regular chaps sit on top of my belt, however here is another option for you more comfortable and easier to deal with... They are single leg chaps

Made of High quality premium leather and treated with a patented process so they are 100% water proof.

The belt on my chaps goes right over the belt for my jeans. When I ordered the chaps, the size I got was dictated by thigh measurement as opposed to waist size. Waist measurement would have indicated a "medium", but due to thigh measurement I ended up with a large.
I don't know what chaps you're planning to get, but my experience is that cheap chaps give problems. I've had broken zipper tabs as well as snaps that come undone---the unsnapped bottom means flapping leg bottoms can cause the snaps to beat your primary cover or other finished surface.
I recently bought a higher quality (& more expensive) set and think it was money well spent.

They all differ - you really need to try on. Wear a pair of jeans with a belt and then try on. I don't think you'll need more than a 34, but most do go according to the thigh size as mentioned above...plus they are adjustable at the waist.

Being a slightly long legged person (40" inseam) I wear mine under (lower than) the belt.
Helps get a little more length.
Makes me feel like a gunfighter too ! !

Also, when you get ready to cut them to length, sit on your motorcycle with your foot on the peg and have someone else measure where they should be cut. Long enough standing up is not long enough sitting on your bike.

Spend the money on good chaps. I just got a pair of Fox Creek chaps, and they're fantastic. They're measured by waist size (over the belt), thigh measurement, and outseam.

Fox Creek are the higher quality chaps I was talking about. Good choice '05Train.
