Waterproof Gloves?

I bought a pair of Guide Series Thinsulate Deerskin Gloves at Gander Mountain on Saturday of $40. They are hunting gloves and are advertised as being warm and waterproof.

I was wondering if anyone might have the same glove and if so, what your experience has been with them.

My HD Gortex gaunlets were advertised as "warm and waterproof" also and are anything but. They are warm enough in cold, dry weather but in the rain, they leak like a sieve.

I hate to make a shameless plug and try to stay away from it but being I pay for the right I will. Look at the Hugger gloves on my website, this is truly the only water proof leather you will find as it is a patented process. There is an article from thunder mag with a review and I will guarantee 100% satisfaction you will not be disappointed. The Lined gloves are lined with HIPORA Gloves Inserts and are very warm and rated down to about 30 degrees.

I can take these gloves and hold my hand under a full running facet for as long as I want and when you remove your hand it is like when you bike has that fine coat of wax on it the water just roles off, the leather will never get brittle or dry out.

Give them a look, very reasonable priced and with the forum 10% coupon VT10 it is a great deal.

I bought a pair of the older HD FXRG gauntlets before the plastic was added to the knuckel area and they are very warm and very waterproof. Last bit of HD clothing I bought back in '03. $50 cuz they were getting the plastic coated ones in stock. Gander Mountain stuff is usually pretty good.

Huskerbob I have used several pair of gortex/thinsulate ultra gloves for up to 11 years and like any leather you do have to keep up your leather with some conditoner and some have a waterproofer in them to help or the out side get waterlogged. My gloves do work well in rain up to a point that regardless ,sooner are later you will get some moisture in side. It can weep in just from the inner liner at the top edge. If what you have is one of the waterproof linners they will work only if stiched up well. The 2 pair i use are calela's,1 is 100gram of thinsulate and the other is 150 gram of ultra and both have been wet. Summer i wear plain deer or hog skin gloves from the local hardwear store. Takes about 6 or 7 years to wear them out and 10 get a nother pair. Bought one pair of overpriced mc gloves and gave the junk away.
