The original post........
I've tried earplugs, but they just make me feel like I've got a sinus infection with a plugged head, and it just doesn't feel comfortable to me.

Ear plugs, the foam type. Ear plugs will reduce the wind noise and other high frequency type noises while allowing you to properly hear.

There wasn't a lot of adjustment on mine. On mine the loops are contiuous and pass through a ring. There is a plastic keepr on the loop though and I could move the ring so that it repositioned the angle of the side straps, and then push the keeper up against the ring to (more or less) keep it in place. Plugs are the only way to get quiet, but I have noticed that if I adjust the straps so that they are not cutting the air right over the center of the ear, it is significantly quieter. just a thought...

If they do they have a serious problem. Once you have a windshield, it's hard to go back to not having one....

Louder pipes! Trust me you won't hear a thing! Actually I have the same problem I have a few different helmets and the straps on the CF cross right over the ear. Could try tape across (around) the two straps might stop some of the vibration of the straps?

Is there a good solution to block out the wind noise? It really bothers me. I feel like I'm going deaf if I go on the freeway. That just can't be good.

Heres' what I use with both my half and full helmet:
Etymotic Research ER6 Isolator Earphones (Black)
http://ec1.images-amazon.com/images/...4L._AA280_.jpg
They fit better than any earplug I've used and have the added benefit of playing music from an MP3 player, if you like. I have mine connected to my Garmin Zumo 450 GPS.

Find ear plugs that work. There are a lot of different kinds; try them till you find ones that fit.
I used to be really against them and gave crap to guys that wore them, but I have found that on long trips they really make a difference. Around town I still go without, but if I'm going for more than a couple of hours the ear plugs go along. I have the kind with the valves in them, so once they have been in for a while I don't even know they are there.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm wondering how this will work, though? I have some high quality noise isolating headphones like the ones you bought, and I've noticed that when I'm wearing them but not playing music through them- the cord amplifies sounds such as the cord rubbing against my shirt, and I would imagine wind noise. Reminds me of putting a tin can with a string attached to it up to your ear, and then snapping the string.

I've probably tried 7 or 8 different types of earplugs. I've tried the ones with the valves in them, but they make the wind noise bad at slow speeds where it wasn't a problem without plugs before. They're better for freeway stuff than nothing, but not perfect. Some of the foam ones expand way too much and are not comfortable. I tried the DYI custom silicone ones, and they're a joke. Don't work at all. The best I've found are the extremely soft disposable plugs like you'd use at the shooting range. It's just too bad that they still aren't as comfortable as I'd like, and they block out more than just the wind noise.
