Overpants

I'm moving back to Texas (Dallas area) and was wondering if any of my fellow Texans use overpants for winter riding?

I've got chaps, but when it's really cold out I want something that's waterproof and warm. I've been looking at either the FXRG from HD on Ebay, and some others.

Any suggestions?

I have the FXRG over pants nd have no issues with them they do get a little warm being leather. I also have First Gear HT II which have a zip out liner. They are comfortable in warmer weather. http://newenough.com/protective_appa...overpants.html

I wear a pair of Fox Creek overpants. They fit nice and keep me warm enough.

Check out Aerostich Darien pants. They're pricey but you can't beat them. Waterproof and with the armor in the knee, pretty warm when you need it.

Right now I've got a little speck o'land in a place called Wisner, LA. If you're looking on a map, find Monroe, go east a little bit, head south to Winnsboro and just below that (past Gilbert) is Wisner.

I'm from Texas and need the services of DFW (else I'd move to Austin). But, LA and TX both have pretty mild winters, thus the need for something besides jeans in the winter.

Ya know...for the 2 or 3 days it drops below 50.

I highly recommend Cycleport's Air Mesh Kevlar.

I live south of Houston and I ride all over the country. The Air Mesh pants and jacket are unbeatable in my mind, winter or summer, rain or shine. The light weight, breathable, windproof and waterproof, liners work great in the winter and will keep you dry in a downpour. On top of that the gear is arguably the safest you can wear. Good luck.
