Applying Patches

How do I go about applying my patches to my vest? Do I need adhesive? How about the placement of the patches. I plan on a large Harley patch on the back with the HOG patch below it. But where should I put the annual Hog patches? Any advice?

Forget the patches unless you want to be labeled a RUB, Poser, etc. by real bikers (whatever that is).

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think you're allowed to wear HOG patches until you collect your needlepoint merit badge

If you are going to attach the patches, then sew them on. You'll most likely be removing the annual patches at some time in the future, as your vest will run out of room. You might save the annual patches for a nice case display at home.

I didn't know so many 1%ers spent their evenings posting on internet sites.

Yea, we don't hit the sleezy bars until about midnight. I'm a 1%er between 12-6am, then i turn back into a 99%er.

I took my CMA color's patch to a tailor and had them glue/sew them on. I think it was about $10.00 per patch. If I were you, I wouldn't sew the yearly HOG patches on... You'll have 10 + in no time.

Sewn on

I took mine to a dry-cleaner close to me house that does alterations. Sewing on the patches was a snap for them.

Sewing them works best - talk with some others in your Chapter, and they may be able to point you to a local seamstress that sews onto leather at reasonable rates.

Depending on which Harley patch you choose, the HOG patch can work above or below, whichever fits & looks better.

The annual "rocker" patches work well on the front, starting at the top and working your way down over the years.

Good one! I guess slamming HOG makes for a REAL 1%er...

It's a shame, but there are too many azzholes that just wait for a sincere post so they can jump all over it...
