Ride of the month entry for November

Year: 2009
Model: Indian Chief Vintage
Eng size: 1720 cc or 105 cu in
Transmission (6sp):Baker 6 Direct
Pipes: 2 into 1 with closed loop FI & O2 sensors
Seat: Solo Saddle with chrome grab rail
Wheels: Billet Aluminum
Accessories:
Vintage Model - #31 of only 210 manufactured
Quick detachable windshield with lock
Two Tone Paint - Navajo Turquoise & Winter White
Wheels - Billet Aluminum Wheels & Brembo floating disc brakes
Saddle Bags - Tan Leather with Fringe, quick detach feature
Seating - Removable Pillion Passenger Pad with strap
And the story: I've always admired Indians and their long history as much as I've followed Harley Davidson throught the years. I became aware that Indian Motorcycle was making a determined effort to re-establish the heritage of the past with a motorcycle that embraces many modern features.

I came across this particular Indian Chief Vintage model at the dealership in Wichita Kansas. The summer riding season was coming to an end and the dealer listed several of thier bikes on EBay. I was drawn to this particular bike with its classic big V-Twin engine and wonderful use of chrome and vintage colors.

Now this bike as optioned is much more than I ever would have imagined paying, but times being what they are the dealer knocked close to $6,000 of the price. I've done a lot of research into the Vintage Models and with the various ways I've seen them optioned I believe this bike to be 1 of 10 in the world. Many Vintage models sold are being shipped overseas and being I had mine shipped to South Florida I figured I may never pass another bike like my Chief on the road.

I hope you enjoy the photos below:

This is my favorite view of the bike, heading out of the garage for a ride.

I did get $6K off msrp sticker, but it was still an arm and a leg.

Here's some photos of the factory and the guys assembling the new Indian Chiefs.

Thumbs up

Man...that is a beautiful bike and I don't care what the haters say. If I was to ever get another bike (non-fairing bike that is), I'd be eye-balling those Indians real hard.
