Story: Have always wanted a wide glide since I graduated high school in 1995. My first bike was a used low rider(couldn't afford a new bike) I bought in 97 that was wrecked me and my grandfather repaired. I rode it for about 2 years and in 99 I traded my used low rider in on a used softail custom Rode the bike for only about a year until I became divorced and the court wasn't very good to me in the divorce and gave the house, my truck (that i used for work) to my ex wife. So I had to sell my bike to buy wife another vehicle so I keep my truck to work. Has been tight ever since, divorce destroyed my credit and my finances so have not been able to afford a bike. The instant I heard HD was discontinuing the FXDWG in 09 last summer I bit the bullet and drove to the stealer and bought the Anniversary model you are seeing now. I always wanted one and after I heard of the discontinuation I knew I was meant to have the 105th Edition that would be the last year for them (hence my username). I was after this bike for over 10 years.

I'll give it a shot!

Year:1970
Model:XLCH
Eng size:Originally 1000cc (.30 over, 10:1 CR, oversized valves, ported heads, Super E shorty)
Transmission(5sp, 6sp etc):4 speed jockey shift with suicide clutch
Pipes:2" Ultima drags stretched 2" and 4" beer can baffles
Seat: Ultima High Noon - reshaped
Wheels: Stock late model ironhead disc brake mags
Accessories: Not one piece on the bike has been untouched or left stock
And the story: Got the motor and front end from a drag bike a had and my son (9 years old) and I took a 5 month trip into building a chopper together. He built the rear fender by himself with only minimum guidance to learn to MIG weld! Rolled the old bike into the garage in January '08 and test rode the new incarnation in May of '08.

The story/ I've waited 14 years between this bike and my last Sporty, had to make some hard financial choices, and Norma Jean went on the block. I thought I would be able to get another ride within a year, but the kids kept growing and needing things ( Funny how that happens) The wife wanted a bigger house, and then wanted a roof on the house. Imagine that! New car etc etc we've all been there. MEDUSA was bought in September, but at a price. Both parents passed on the same day, after all was said and done used the left-over money to go and get her. I'm thinking my dad would be OK with it.

Hope I'm not too late.

This has been a 5 year work in progress that's pretty much done.
Though I'll probably find something else to do sooner or later....they are never really
done are they?

The bike is an 04 softail standard. 5 speed.
The engine is a 117 with Dan Baisley pro street heads, Baisley hybrid injection.
Darkhorse crank.

The paint was designed and painted by J E Illusions. It's a one of a kind paint set.
J E Illusions also stretched the tank.

The cases, jugs and heads were powder coated gloss black by Sumax.
Heads and jugs were then sent to Diamond cut.

The wheels, rotors and pulley are Performance Machine Villain series.
The hand controls, master cylinder, switch controls hydraulic clutch and brakes are also PM.

The rear end is also a PM Phatail 240 kit.

Arlen Ness forward controls. Roland Sands Design air filter.

D&D slip on exhaust.

Most of the accessories were done during the first 3 years. The paint, engine work
and Phatail kit were done last winter.

Lucky I was working a lot of overtime while I was doing this.
I'm not rich, I'm a construction worker and it took a lot of OT to pull this off.
