new CMA biker down today
A new CMA biker...both to CMA and to biking...went down today. Her name is Joanie H., and she just earned her CMA colors. She was on a ride in Southern Illinois with a couple of friends...back road riding. While going into a curve as the second bike, a car came through on the other lane. She "fixated" on the car and grabbed her brake....result....BAM !!!
She hit the car in the front quarter panel. Broken tibia and other minor injuries. Actually, she was going slow and God protected her.
The poor driver of the car was visiting Southern Illinois from Chicago. Unfortunately, the accident REALLY shook him up. Isn't it something to actually find a driver that gets torn up by a biker accident??!!
Nevertheless...please keep Joanie and her family in prayer. She has already told friends she WILL be getting back on the bike.

In our prayers, Thankful.
Glad to hear the injuries were not worse, or worse yet, life threatening. Joanie is in our prayers, that is what CMA is about. Tell her keep the chin up and she'll be back up before long.

Surgery went well
I was able to visit Joanie this afternoon...before all the bad weather hit southern Illinois. She had surgery to repair the severely damaged tibia, and the prognosis is GREAT! Her spirits are soaring...and she can't wait to get back on the bike.
She remembered fixating on the car...then grabbing her brake...tossing her straight into the car.
God sure was watching over her...could have been MUCH worse.
Thanks for the prayers.

Prayers have been sent. Glad to hear of her good prognosis. Also glad to hear that she still plans to continue her riding and witnessing...
