17th Annual Blessing of the Bikes - Bald Knob Cross - Alto Pass, IL

The Lord's Paheece chapter of the Christian Motorcyclists Association in Southern Illinois will hold the 17th Annual Blessing of the Bikes at Bald Knob Cross on Sunday, April 27, 2008.

Bald Knob Cross is located near Alto Pass, IL which is south of Murphysboro, IL off Illinois Route 127...and north of Anna/Jonesboro off Illinois Route 127......look for the signs...deep south west Illinois...west of I-57 off IL-146.

The Blessing is an awesome experience with almost 5000 attendees showing up last year ... all motorcycles welcome, as are all modes of transportation. Prayer circles and bike blessings all day. Road Kill Stew and Chili served with a variety of door prizes. Message at 1:00 p.m. by yours truly this year.

Show up anytime from 10:00 a.m. on into the afternoon. Rain or Shine. This is a family oriented event, so bring the kids too!

Any questions can be sent via private message or email to me. Hope to see you there!!! franksam@copper.net

Although I've attended other Blessings, I've never been able to make it down to Bald Knob.

But my 11 year old son who was camping with his Boy Scout Troop this past weekend just returned home and said on their way home, they'd got to stop, look at the bikes and talk to some folks there.

One of the CMA'ers there realized the boys were traveling home. He also asked if anyone rode motorcycles. My boy raised his hand and told him about his trail bike and motocross bike back at home. The CMA rep then offered to say a blessing for traveling mercies for the scout troop - and for my son as he was riding this year. Gave him a cross necklace and a couple of other keepsakes.

He just came in from putting his "I was Blessed in '08" sticker on his KX100.

God Bless you folks and the work you do to spread the message of the Good News.

boy scouts at the cross

I remember that....I must say I thought it different to have the scouts there bu God led me to ask if We could pray with them and I know I certainly felt blessed to be allowed to pray with them that day! May God bless you and your family greatly!
