Blessing of the Bikes - Bald Knob Cross - Illinois

The Lord's Paheece chapter of the Christian Motorcyclists Association in Southern Illinois will hold the 15th Annual Blessing of the Bikes at Bald Knob Cross on Sunday, April 29, 2007.

Bald Knob Cross is located near Alto Pass, IL which is south of Murphysboro, IL off Illinois Route 127...and north of Anna/Jonesboro off Illinois Route 127......look for the signs...deep south west Illinois...west of I-57 off IL-146.

The Blessing is an awesome experience with almost 2000 bikes showing up...all motorcycles welcome, as are all modes of transportation. Prayer circles and bike blessings all day. Road Kill Stew and Chili served with a variety of door prizes. Message at 1:00 p.m. by yours truly this year.

Show up anytime from 10:00 a.m. on into the afternoon. Rain or Shine. This is a family oriented event, so bring the kids too!

Any questions can be directed sent via private message or email to me. Hope to see you there!!! franksam@copper.net

Attendance Record

The Heavenly Father granted us the most beautiful day ever for the Blessing of the Bikes at Bald Knob Cross. There were almost 5,000 people in attendance with an estimated 3,500 motorcycles. We ran out of everything, as this exceeded any previous year of the 15 annual Blessings. Unfortunately, the line of bikes up to the hill was so long, several bikers turned around and left. The Hill can only hold so many bikes, and we were busting at the seams on top of the Hill.

Here is an article about the Blessing from a regional newspaper...

Thank you to all the CMAers that worked hard all day and in the days in advance of the Blessing. Thank you to everyone praying for this event. And thank you to all the bikers for taking the day to come visit Bald Knob Cross.

Most of all, thank you to our Heavenly Father for His beautiful creation and the glorious day He shared with us.
