Wingnut Revolt Over Obamacare Repeal & Replace Plan?

You know you're in deep sh*t when these two rock-ribbed residents of Planet Wingnut show signs of having cold feet.

Congress can repeal it, or they can just sit back and let it go broke. If they do nothing, the AHA strangles itself by this time next year. And the Dems own it. Not the new administration. This is becoming more likely as each day passes. And so as to not own it, the repubs want to be able to say "we repealed it, but didn't kill it until we had a replacement." "We did what we promised. It's not our fault it imploded before we could replace it. The Dems slowed us down with their obstructionist tampering." And then they will lay out the funding charts that show how the dems only structured the funding to last through 2016, and how the money actually ran dry in 2015.

Then after people experience not being able get insurance, they will have a much more receptive audience for what ever they have in mind. That could be another AHA style force feeding in congress. Or a return to what we had before. Or anything in between. You can bet that single payer will never see the light of day. The medical industry spent way too much money on both sides of the isle for that to happen.

Aw, how cute, you're using "wingnut" again.

Libertarians are not conservatives. It's why they picked a different name for themselves.

Trump's promised something better and cheaper, without saying what that would be. But the only thing that fits that bill is single payer, Medicare for all. Dems would support that. I think Trump could be swayed if they only agreed to call it "TRUMPcare!" (yes -- that's with an exclamation point: because everything Trump does in unbelievably fantastic!)

Really? I didn't know Wingnuts came in so many flavors. They all sort of taste the same.

Well single payer could work. Or there is that not for profit idea some have floated. But I'm thinking that "get a job and buy your own insurance" is going the be the loudest voice.

That's what I always did. The AHA just made it more expensive for me. Perhaps they'll fix medicare so that it really is single payer by the time I'm ready to use it.

Didn't Obama promise something better and cheaper without saying what it would be? In fact, didn't it have to be passed for everyone to figure out what it would be? Oh wait. I remember now. Obama and crew knew what it would be, but would never say except during their private 'intellectual' orgies.

Being objective, they can really screw this up. They've had years to figure this out and it can be a complete cluster if they don't manage the narrative and articulate their plan.

You're forgetting the issue of government involvement in a single payer system. That in and of itself would fuk it up.

Well guess what. When he takes office, he most likely have the support to push anything he wants through congress. Despite what some of the fringe are saying from both sides of the isle, more than enough members figure they had better ride his coat tails until they figure out exactly what happened.

I realize that it just frosts your glasses over when you think about it. But that's life. The people on the hill do their thing and the rest of use regular folk have to find a way to live with it.

You got at least two years of Trumps America, nothing you can say will change that. Most of us learned that when Obama got elected. Once the votes are counted, there is a period of time when they reward their backers and to hell with the genpop. Because they know that the majority of Americans have short memories. And in two years they can distract us with something new, some scandal or emerging threat.

Everyone is all worked up about healthcare. Not realizing that it's mostly window dressing. SCOTUS is were Trumps legacy will be. Most likely 2 appointments before his 4 years are up. That's the game changer.

That's why Obama care was made to fail, then Hillary would take it there .
