Gotta love those Hollywood liberals. They are all opposed to guns and violence until the money is on the table and then it is do as I say, not as I do!!

Here are some facts for you. The results of the Australian Gun Ban:

Armed Robbery +69%
Armed Assault +28%
Gun Murders +19%

plus, a whole new problem that was so rare prior to the gun ban that Australian law doesn't even exist to deal with it:

Home Invasions +21%

Actually, I believe Scalia said there may be room within the Constitution to limit certain weapons. He made no reference to states restricting access to arms not able to be prohibited under the second amendment.

Now, isn't this inconvenient for Sen. Feinstien?

FBI: MORE PEOPLE KILLED WITH HAMMERS, CLUBS EACH YEAR THAN RIFLES

By AWR HAWKINS, Breitbart.com

According to the FBI annual crime statistics, the number of murders committed annually with hammers and clubs far outnumbers the number of murders committed with a rifle.

This is an interesting fact, particularly amid the Democrats' feverish push to ban many different rifles, ostensibly to keep us safe of course.

However, it appears the zeal of Sens. like Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) and Joe Manchin (D-WV) is misdirected. For in looking at the FBI numbers from 2005 to 2011, the number of murders by hammers and clubs consistently exceeds the number of murders committed with a rifle.

Think about it: In 2005, the number of murders committed with a rifle was 445, while the number of murders committed with hammers and clubs was 605. In 2006, the number of murders committed with a rifle was 438, while the number of murders committed with hammers and clubs was 618.
And so the list goes, with the actual numbers changing somewhat from year to year, yet the fact that more people are killed with blunt objects each year remains constant.

For example, in 2011, there was 323 murders committed with a rifle but 496 murders committed with hammers and clubs.

While the FBI makes is clear that some of the "murder by rifle" numbers could be adjusted up slightly, when you take into account murders with non-categorized types of guns, it does not change the fact that their annual reports consistently show more lives are taken each year with these blunt objects than are taken with Feinstein's dreaded rifle.

Another interesting fact: According to the FBI, nearly twice as many people are killed by hands and fists each year than are killed by murderers who use rifles.

Actually I think he did.

He (along with the majority) stated that State and Local bans could not supersede the Constitutional right to bear arms. The right to conceal carry in both Federal property and within the States was upheld, with limits to be defined. For example: your right to carry your shot gun in National Park is not extended to your visit to your buddy doing 10-15 years in Federal prison.

Conversely, the Auto-weapons ban is a federal ban, and by association the federal ban applies to the States. So a State cannot grant you the right to own a Tommy-gun without a Federal License.

it's a double-edged sword for sure.

I believe the Feds will still let you own a full auto, but it has to have been manufactured before 1986.

When I had an FFL back in the 80's, if you were uncertain about two seemingly conflicting laws, the consensus was, "use the law that is the more strict."
