So I am listening to NPR radio and they are doing a story on Mali in Africa.

In January 2012 an insurgency began, led by the National Movement for the Liberation of Azawad.[22] In March rebel troops staged a coup d'état, leading to sanctions and an embargo by the Economic Community of West African States.[23] The MNLA quickly took control of the north, declaring independence as Azawad.[24] However, Islamist groups including the Ansar Dine and Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM), turned on the MNLA and took control of the north,[25] rejecting independence in favor of a Mali under Sharia.[26]

Here is the line that caught my attention: "When the Islamist insurgents took over there was lots of killing, raping, looting, and imposition of strict Sharia Law." Now, that is some kinda religion to allow killing, raping, and looting.

Under Muslim Sharia law, the clothes you wear, the music you listen to, and the television you watch would all be censored. Behavior in public is legally restricted and controlled. And Sharia is the ideal social system for those that preach Radical Islam. Sharia is an Arabic term referring to a legal framework to regulate public and private aspects of life based upon specific Islamic teachings. Sharia is an intolerant system that threatens the Western ideals of “liberty and justice for all”. Sharia views non-Muslims as second class citizens, sanctions inequality between men and women, prescribes cruel and unusual punishments for crimes, and promotes a restrictive business environment that strangles the freedoms of capitalism.

Women in many Muslim countries are not considered equal to men. Beyond that, they are often subjected to unimaginable injustices.
Radical Muslim societies ruled by Sharia law provide men with a clear advantage. According to Radical Islam, women are considered subservient, second-class citizens expected to conform to specific moral codes.

Fathers have killed their own daughters for marrying outside of the Muslim faith. Such murders, or "honor killings" have even been recorded in growing numbers in the United States.

We should adopt a few of islams traditions/laws and Americanize them, like the strict dress code for women. They should only be allowed to where those cute little summer dresses they wear, heels, and of course panties should be outlawed

Atrocities advocated or committed in the name of God only show that the person advocating or committing those atrocities clearly didn't clearly understand the message of their own religion, and need to study more.
