"there is a contingent in congress that wants to take the profitable segments of the usps business and hand them over to corporations,so it's my personal belief that congress, being owned by corporations,is purposely breaking the usps to justify this."
You are spot on.

Priority mail and package business, which are both growing as the letter mail declines.Right now,the usps is undergoing a restructuring to eliminate smaller mail processing centers as the volume declines.
also the universal service costs more to run than it will ever bring in,costs more to keep the small town offices open and to provide service then revenue generated, and the USPS can't just pass off on unprofitable delivery areas as ups and fed ex do.
Little known fact,USPS carries packages for both fed-ex and Ups to some areas.

I feel bad for the families and BP got what was coming, but if you think it's not a distraction from all the other obama failures then shame on you.
So what might be the things obama's Justice Department wants us to overlook.
high unemployment
4 dead Americans
Petreus/CIA scandel
Fast and Furious
Tax increases coming
High gas prices
I could go on all day but why bother.

Ahhhhh, what on earth does the Justice Department have to do with unemployment, taxes or gas prices? Perhaps they are also the ones shooting rockets at Israel, provoking conflict, so that'll dominate the news as well.

Just putting the dollar value in perspective. The entire BP debacle cost the company in fines, 1/4 of what the Post Office is able to lose in a single year. Clearly BP could learn something from the P.O.

BP doesn't have free reign to drill in offshore waters. They have to obtain permits which should hold them liable for damages from spills. There was never any question about who was in charge of the rig that exploded and caused the leak. They could have been fined to pay for damages from the beginning.

That is not true according to BP who was trying to blame subcontractors if recall and they should be more worried about the 11 people they killed trying to save a few bucks. I never understood companies that pulled this bullshit, they wind up paying out ten fold more in the long run.

The new TV ad they are running claims they have already spent 20 billion on cleanup and restoration (if you believe that). If that's true, the 4.5 billion in fines doesn't amount to much, except for the 1.5 billion cut for the lawyers.
I agree too that the deaths seem to be grossly overlooked in this case.
Now I see we have another incident brewing. 2 dead in this explosion.

A garbage man's occupation is more dangerous than an oil field worker. Even more dangerous than being a police officer. I know, off topic.....
