Oh that's right, you're a union lackey. All for one and one for all right? As long as they're union anyway. Funny how in a time of private sector cutbacks due to crummy public policy, public sector unionista's think they should be immune.

I already said what I feel they should be paid. Upper middle class professions. Now how about you? You want to answer my questions about whether or not you have a degree? Just tell me what degree you have and I'll tell you what you are worth.

I get paid more than people in comparable positions but less than I'd like. That's between me and my boss in a private sector job in which taxes aren't levied to pay my income. IOW, none of yours or anyone else's business.

How about this, do you think teachers and firemen should be paid at the upper middle class scale?

It varies by location. What do you do for a living? You already admitted you are over paid. I'm a garbage truck mechanic.

Let the market determine their pay. I would bet that there would be a long line of guys who would take my brother's job at $60K a year, including me. I've never been paid while sleeping.

I think firemen and cops deserve upper middle class pay as well, but the system where one can work a bazillion hours overtime and bump their pay scale, then use that to define their pension pay where many get 90% of their highest pay is broken. Teachers, who knows how to fix that system? Teachers unions have the school districts hamstrung but teachers who produce the highest results ought to get bonuses and scumbag teachers ought to get a warning for any infractions or issues (three strikes?) then fired. Too many sick f**ks teaching kids today. Too much job security and protection from the powerful unions.

Do you have a college education? If so what did you major in? Tell me what college degree you have and I'll tell you what your income should be.

And since when does college education, degree and or amount of college determine what income a person gets?

It has for quite a while. Clearly there are examples of folks without degrees making lots of money. However, those with college degrees earn higher wages than those without degrees.

Syracuse, N.Y. — Just two weeks after announcing 25 job cuts, Crouse Hospital today announced 70 more.
Today’s cuts included licensed practical nurses, nursing assistants, nursing support and non-nursing positions, said Bob Allen, a Crouse vice president. Twenty-three of the positions were already vacant.
Most of the jobs eliminated were union positions, unlike the Oct. 24 layoff, which involved management positions. "We worked very closely with the union to make sure we did this in partnership with them," Allen said.
The cuts are necessary because the hospital's expenses are rising faster than revenues, Allen said. Rising patient drug costs and employee health care benefit costs are two major factors driving up Crouse's expenses, Allen said. At the same time the hospital is anticipating significant cuts in payments from Medicare and Medicaid.
"The cost for us to provide care is going up at the exact same time the reimbursement we get to provide care is going in the opposite direction," Allen said. "It's a tough and challenging situation not just for Crouse, but for all hospitals in the country."

Those who bought the lie, will be the ones who pay the dearest. The upper income people will make due, but those at the bottom will continue to pay for America's foolishness.

As deeply moved as I am by this concern for the unemployed (especially union members) I wonder how bad the hospital layoffs would be if we followed the Right Wing Republican model and ended Medicare and Medicaid altogether? And after the public and private sectors finish shedding employee insurance benefits they say they can no longer afford?
Elections DO have consequences. Sometimes they can be much, much worse.

Ah..yes...afterall that's was what the dems ran this last campaign on right?
"Sure we suck...but if you vote them it will be much worse." Fear..was quite the motivator. But like I said, now that you broke it...you fix it.
