then again, might not be any elections. the appointed one might decide to keep the job and just nullify any new elections. just a thought..........still thinking about it..........yep, that's what he wants.

It is a lot clearer who on the Republican side are going to be seriously thinking about a 2016 candidacy than who on the Democratic side, other than Clinton or Biden who might run. I believe you will initially have a field of at least 10 serious Republican candidates and the numbers might even be more than that. And I'm not including Sarah Palin in that group. She is no longer a serious candidate, just as Herman Cain or Donald Trump were not serious candidates.

Gee, did someone leak out to you the secret liberal agenda? You were not suppose to know this yet.

Hillary can't be a serious candidate either after this cover-up in Beinghazi. Biden won't be supported by the democrats. Democrats will probably look at the governor of Maryland. Republicans will probably look at Rubio (he's already testing the waters in Iowa)

I wouldn't be surprised to see Deval Patrick jump in. Ma governor, Barry ally, hails from Chicago, and he's black, which is irrelevant to me but the left has made it clear that any "old white guy " is unacceptable.

But Rubio doesn't qualify for president, does he?

I can hear it already. Repubs pick Rubio and the left goes on a binge about how it's nothing but cheap pandering to a demographic to try and get votes. See, he's not the correct kind of minority to the left, he doesn't live on their reservation. Repubs are damned if they do and damned if they don't.

Rubio it will be, and obviously even you recognize it will be a pandering, knee jerk reaction. Will it work? Just might, and I hope it does, if he avoids selecting an extremist VP candidate to satisfy the small minority lunatic fringe base.

That's not what I said. It doesn't matter who the minority is, if that person runs as a Repub the left calls it pandering.

I've read arguments on both sides of Rubio's constitutional eligibility and I think he qualifies. I wouldn't pick him because he's Hispanic. I think he's a well spoken and energetic communicator. He is a very motivational voice for the GOP.
Bobby Jindal would also be a good choice. He's been instrumental in changing the face of politics in Louisiana that has been riddled with corruption in the past. A Jindal/Rubio (or Rubio/Jindal) ticket could convince me to vote for the GOP again. Something I haven't done lately, with the exception of Jindal.

Rubio is a career politician, has limited executive-level experience and has written an autobiography early in life. Sounds like.......... President Obama. But that's me.
If 2006 is a good indicator, we will know with a high degree of certainty who the candidates are by 2014. I think it's too early to tell who is on that list.

On the lighter side.
Hollywood might decide to run two of their own, as opposed to bankrolling the democratic ticket. It could be a ticket of....
Sheen and Lohan
Platform would be "Coke, Weed, and Hookers for Everyone." Along with a slogan of "Partying our way to a balanced budget."

My money's on Mussolini.
Actually I agree with HiAngle, it's too soon to even guess. This Country could look a whole lot different in 4 years than it does right now.

Exactly. I thought Chris Mathews, Anderson Cooper, and the bull dyke Rachael Maddow were gonna have a threesome the other night.

lookit all the subject matter FOX will have the next 4 years. Are there any possible candidates who are not professional politicians? Someone very successful in business yet does not have an account in the Caymans? A double header .... pizza & chicken .... Herman Cain and Dan Cathy.
Y'all left out IND Guv Mitch Daniels. I heard his name mentioned often, although not as much as Christie. So that's 4 Governors possible. Oh, and Jeb Bush would make 5.
