I don't know if I'd say the Republicans are fighting a "war on women" but, I believe the gender gap in votes cast for Obama can be attributed to reproductive rights.

I spent a good deal of time trying to convince my wife and daughter to vote for Mitt and they just couldn't be persuaded. They both said that fiscal responsibility was a secondary issue to reproduction rights. They were afraid Mitt would appoint justices to the Supreme Court who would overturn Roe V Wade.
