John Galt has left the building
I basically said this a year ago, but it bears repeating now:
If I were John Boehner this is what I'd do.
I'd go on the Sunday talks shows and tell the American people: "you want it America, you got it."
You voted for the free health care, free college, tax the rich, raise the capital gains tax, raise the death tax, the dream act, gay marriage, medical marijuana, free contraception, tax payer funded abortions, stimulus spending, raise the debt ceiling...amnesty for illegals, student loan forgiveness, ..you want it America? You Got it! "
"That's what he promised you right? Great--send me the bill...I'll sign it. I can't promise that the rest of the Pubs will, it's up to them But me? Hell yeah! - just send me the bill. I'm sick and tired of being in charge of the grown-ups. You don't like your peas and carrots? No problem...it's ice cream and cake from now on. You want to stay up past your bed time...no sweat...just sleep in tomorrow. No sweat. "
"Just get Nancy and Harry together over one of those beer summits and send me a budget (first one in 3 years) and I'll endorse it, sign it. "
"Just make sure you put your names on the top in big letters. Make sure everyone knows that you're keeping your campaign promises. Make sure the Dems all endorse it and take pictures next to it. Smile and wave to the cameras."
You want it? You got it America. Because John Galt has left the building.

Sounds good to me at this point. F it, I'll take the freebies too then. I don't have kids so I'll have no guilt for what I'll be leaving behind.

Were it only true. The rest of us are tired of his incessant whining.
Fortunately, I think Boehner actually is in charge of the grown-ups. Unfortunately, the GOP also lets the kids sit at the adult table, making any serious conversation difficult.

Yup, give em what they want and make sure THEY own it.
We can rebuild. We have the technology. We can make it better, stronger, faster.

Exactly. You made the promises. The kiddies bought it like kiddies will. Now go right ahead and fulfill your promises. I've had it with this b.s..."I was going to let you stay up late and skip school but daddy said no..." crap.
I said it a year ago: the dems would demonize the pubs everytime they tried to be responsible. I was glad when Ryan was selected for VP because it drove the discussion to the real issues of deficit, debt, and entitlements. The pubs told America the truth..and the dems lied like dogs. Just like I said they would.
Fine. Now call their bluff. Give 'em carte blanche and watch them squirm. They need "daddy" to say "no." That's how they portray us: "the party of 'no'". "Mommy loves you and would give you cake and ice cream every day...but daddy won't let me."
Well fk that. From now on let's let mommy say "no." Daddy has left the building. Atlas has shrugged. You see...we'll be fine. It's the fools that believe that mommy really had the cake and ice cream that are going to take the full brunt of the disaster headed their way.
You broke it...you bought it.

I'm happy obama won. Liberalism must be found out once and for all and the next four years will prove that progressives are the real BAIN of society.
So I am completely and utterly supporting each and every policy, legislation, liberal SCOTUS appointee that obama puts forth.

You had the technology .... it was sold to the highest bidder around the world.
They can make it better, stronger, faster, and CHEAPER.
Then sell it back to their 'best' customer ... the U.S.A.

Evil isn't like vampires. It doesn't die in the sunlight.
And it doesn't really matter if a lib's merely confused, or overtly evil. They're the enemy of freedom, either way.
And, any philosophy designed to take individual freedom IS evil. No matter how often they tell you it's for your own good.

Exactly how my wife and I feel. No rancor, not angry or upset. It's going to get wild and painful too - but I will watch the show for it's entertainment value. Laissez les bons temps rouler!

I hope some of you saw 60 minutes, I think yesterday, when they talked about the 6 million empty, high tech jobs. It seems that even though we are flooded with college grads that they don't know how to do anything and can't get a job. We are talking about manufacturing jobs running computerized milling machines, lathes, presses, and others. When asked why they didn't train people, most stated that they were in the manufacturing business, not the education business. If unfullfilled, these jobs will eventually be outsoarced. It also seemd that most qualified workers think they are worth too much to hire and keep making products at a marketable rate. Yea!! to the unions and there ideas. I remember when I was teaching in the early '90s, the highschools started closing their trades classes or voed classes as they weren't oriented to higher ed. It seemed that everyone thought that the illegals would do all the hands on work and us native borns would be supervisors, managers, and such. It wouldn't mater if the US had 100% college educated adults, someone would still put hands on for society to continue. In fact, the majority of society is a hands on society, so what is OBs push on college?? You think maybe the education industry, along with the big ball team conferences, have gotten too big for the countries good??? They make up a large voting segment though. In the wind.
